You can easily change the degree of transparency (opacity) for a translucent polyhedral style using the Polyhedra group in the Model Inspector (View > Inspector > Model).
If you need to improve the visibility of an atom inside a translucent polyhedron, the best option is probably to adjust the rendering settings for the atom sphere, to make it appear darker. For example, the "China" preset gives a nice result.
