How do I measure the angle between two molecules?

You can calculate the angle between two (planar) molecules, by letting CrystalMaker determine the best-fit lattice plane through each molecule, and then calculating the angle between each plane. This is quite straightforward, and is summarized below:

To calculate the angle between two molecules in a crystal:

  1. Select the atoms in one planar group, using the Arrow, Lasso or Polygon tools.

  2. Calculate the best-fit plane through each molecule.

  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the second molecule.

  4. Choose: Calculate > Angle Between Planes.
